BKIN’s robotic technology profiled in Maclean’s Magazine
In 2012, Maclean’s magazine profiled the research program of BKIN’s customer, the University of Calgary Sports Medicine Clinic. The group, headed by Drs Sean Dukelow, Willem Meeuwisse, and Brian Benson, is studying the use of KINARM for the objective assessment of sport concussion injuries. With the support of Own the Podium, the Canadian sports organization focused on Olympic athletes’ performance, injury prevention and recovery, the group used the KINARM to assess the baseline performance of over 300 Olympic and varsity athletes. With the help of KINARM Standard Tests, the group has been able to objectively identify decline in brain function following a concussion.
